Pieraggi et al. [17] studied the Hf-rich portion of the Cu-Hf system between 72.7 and 100 at.% Hf using DTA and metallography. It was discovered that the eutectic decomposition of the liquid Cu-Hf alloy into hcp and CuHf2 appeared at 1295 ◦ C.

Perry et al. [18] established the Cu-rich end of the Cu-Hf system by DTA, metallography and electron microprobe analysis. A terminal eutectic between fcc solid solution and Cu5 Hf at 7.75 at.% Hf and 980 ◦ C was observed, which is in disagreement with the data of Markiv et al. [15].
