In a complementary work Hofmann ~~employed DTA analysis on alloys containing the FeW phase and he found that it forms from the/z-phase and W-rich solid solution at 1488 K and that the /~-phase decomposes eutectoidally into an Fe-rich bcc phase and FeW at 1463 K.
